Eyewear Size Guide
How to read the model code?
If you already own a pair of eyeglasses, you will see a series of numbers engraved on the arm, on the inside. These numbers indicate the main measurements of the frame and are expressed in millimeters.
The three main values are the lens width, the bridge width, and the arm length. For example, in a sequence like 52 – 18 – 140, the first number indicates the lens width, the second the bridge width, and the third the arm length.
Sometimes there is also a fourth value, which indicates the height of the lens.
The caliber indicates the width of the lens, measured at its widest point. It is the main measurement to consider to understand how large the frame will be.
The bridge indicates the distance between the two lenses, at the center of the frame. Together with the caliber, it helps determine how well the eyeglasses fit on the face.
The length of the temple indicates the measurement of the temple, from the hinge to its end. A correct measurement allows the frame to rest securely and comfortably.
The height of the lens, when indicated, measures the distance between the highest and lowest points of the lens.
Choosing glasses based on face shape
The shape of the face can be a useful starting point for choosing the frame. Generally, for each face shape, certain eyeglass shapes can be evaluated that enhance proportions, creating a balance between lines and volumes.
However, there are no absolute rules: the shape of the face is an additional element to consider when choosing the frame, along with your style and preferences.
